The Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

Once upon a time, in a lush green valley, there was a large pasture where a flock of sheep peacefully grazed every day. The pasture was surrounded by tall hills, and on one side of it, a dense forest stretched into the distance. In that forest lived a sly and cunning wolf, who often lurked just outside the pasture, his hungry eyes fixed on the sheep.

Day after day, the wolf would watch the sheep, licking his lips in anticipation. However, no matter how hard he tried, he could never get close enough to snatch one. The shepherds were always on guard, watching their flock with sharp eyes. They had dogs that patrolled the pasture, barking loudly whenever they sensed danger. Frustrated but determined, the wolf continued to search for a way to satisfy his hunger.

One afternoon, as the wolf prowled near the edge of the forest, he stumbled upon something unusual – a sheepskin. It had been discarded by one of the shepherds after they sheared a sheep. The wolf’s eyes lit up with glee as a clever plan formed in his mind. “This is perfect!” he thought to himself, grinning wickedly.

Without wasting any time, the wolf draped the sheepskin over his body. He looked down at himself and saw that, with the disguise, he now looked just like a sheep. His sharp teeth and menacing eyes were hidden, and he appeared as harmless as one of the flock. Pleased with his new appearance, the wolf slowly made his way toward the pasture.

As he approached, the shepherds didn’t notice anything unusual. They assumed the wolf was just another sheep joining the flock. The wolf slipped into the pasture without raising any suspicion. Now surrounded by sheep, he could hardly believe his luck. He could take one away whenever he pleased without the shepherds or the dogs noticing.

That night, while the sheep were peacefully grazing and resting, the wolf put his plan into action. He would quietly lure a sheep away from the group, lead it into the shadows, and devour it without anyone knowing. Night after night, the wolf feasted, growing fatter and more satisfied. The sheep didn’t realize what was happening, and the shepherds remained unaware that one of their flock was a dangerous predator in disguise.

The wolf’s plan seemed to be working perfectly. He became comfortable in his routine, feeling invincible as he continued to deceive the shepherds and feast on the sheep. But one day, things took an unexpected turn.

The shepherd, who had been caring for the flock for many years, suddenly felt a craving for lamb broth. It had been a while since he had tasted it, and he decided that he would select the healthiest sheep to prepare the meal. As he walked through the pasture, carefully examining each sheep, his eyes fell upon the wolf, who was lying contentedly on the grass, his belly full from days of feasting.

The shepherd noticed how plump and healthy the wolf appeared. Thinking it was one of his finest sheep, he decided, “This one will make the perfect meal.” Without a second thought, he picked up the wolf, still disguised in the sheepskin. The wolf, caught off guard, couldn’t react in time. The shepherd took the wolf back to his home, unaware of the true identity of his catch.

When the time came, the shepherd killed what he thought was a sheep and prepared his meal. Only after it was too late did he realize the truth – that he had, in fact, killed the very wolf that had been preying on his flock.

And that was the end of the cunning wolf, whose deceitful ways had led to his ultimate downfall.

**Moral:** Deceit ultimately leads to downfall.
